Shake It brings the best of burlesque into one show at Adelaide Fringe. Shake It brings together a number of acts, and not all burlesque style but also juggling, hula hoops, and cabaret singing.
The deceptively sweet looking, Minnie Andrews, with the mouth of a sailor and the voice of a siren is the host of the show. Minnie’s smooth vocal tones enrapture the audience and garner applause to start the evening. As the host, Minnie holds the show together in what otherwise would be a disjointed evening of acts.
Anna Fisher was a particularly strong act with athletic acrobatics and hula hoops, completing her act with sass and cheeky winks.
Most artists performing have their own solo show elsewhere around the Fringe circuit and use as a way to further promote. This show was a great way to get a taster for other shows to see.
