Tonight Alive has released Crack My Heart today, the brand new single from upcoming album Underworld, set for release on January 12.
On the track, Singer Jenna McDougall shares: “The concept of cracking the heart is to allow the precious, vulnerable self to come through and be free. The painful, yet liberating experience involves the emotional and energetic decalcification of the hardened heart. The lyrics follow my conversation with a ‘winged man’, a conscious figure, who offers space and safety to do my healing with. In my experience, when you are seen as your authentic self by another, you come to recognise your reflection more accurately and lovingly. ‘Crack My Heart’ is a tribute to the way that love from the divine masculine elevates and holds space for the divine feminine to flourish.”
It has been quite a year for Jeremy Neale. In 2017, he released his acclaimed debut album Getting The Team Back Together, toured across east coast record stores and was announced as the recipient of the prestigious Grant McLennan Fellowship. The fellowship will see him travel to New York City for three months in 2018 to focus on song writing.
To cap off the year, J Neale has shared his annual Xmas single titled Christmas (Turn This Around).
Jeremy says of the song:
“When you love Christmas as much as I do, you often encounter those who are vocally opposed to the silly season. And, I get it. This ain’t my first festive rodeo. I’ve spent many a Christmas working in jobs that double down during this time of year and it can leave you exhausted and yearning for the easy life. But if you have anything you’re grateful for, right now is a beautiful time to focus on that.
It’s also a great time to focus on the second single from my eventual full-length Christmas album. This one doesn’t sound much like Christmas, but that’s the point y’see. It’s the Xmas song for the person who doesn’t much like Xmas. Maybe with the power of love or similar, we can “turn this around”. Eh. Merry Christmas!”
