Sydney based three-piece Middle Kids, comprised of vocalist / guitarist Hannah Joy, producer / multi-instrumentalist Tim Fitz, and drummer Harry Day, have performed ‘Edge Of Town’ live on US TV show Conan, ahead of their debut EP dropping tomorrow. The impressive performance was acknowledged by Conan O’Brien as he praised the band, saying “that was fantastic”.

Middle Kids’ Conan performance is a curtain raiser to their 24 date US tour, which includes a show at SXSW and an opening role for Cold War Kids, before they return home to Australia for tour dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, and support to Ryan Adams’ Australian concert tour.

Middle Kids grabbed the spotlight with the release of their debut single ‘Edge Of Town’ in May last year. Sir Elton John declared himself a fan of the song, added it to his Apple Music playlist and aired it on his Beats 1 radio show.  Triple J placed the song on high rotation, while in the US, the song has had airplay support on over 30 AAA/Alt stations. To date, ‘Edge Of Town’ has accumulated over 3 million streams on Spotify. Not bad for a band that, when they recorded the single, hadn’t played a single show.

Follow up single Never Start has reached ‘most played’ status on triple j, and delivered an intense, captivating, black and white video, directed by Emile Freeman – watch the video.

Middle Kids’ self-titled debut EP – out Friday 17/2/2017

Featuring 6 tracks, including  ‘Your Love’, ‘Edge Of Town’ and ‘Never Start’, produced by the band’s Tim Fitz.
